Charleston's summer heat means outdoor portraits work best in early morning or the hour before sunset. From May through September, we plan couple portrait sessions for that late afternoon golden window — roughly 7 to 8 p.m. — when the peninsula light wraps south-facing facades beautifully. Fall is the most comfortable season for outdoor weddings here; October and early November produce clear skies and that warm Southern light without the humidity.
