Houston's wedding scene is one of the most diverse in the country, and that cuts across venue styles, cultural backgrounds, and ceremony structures. In a single weekend we might photograph an intimate church ceremony in Midtown, a full South Asian celebration in the Westheimer corridor, and an outdoor ranch wedding an hour west toward Katy. A photographer who only knows one slice of that landscape isn't serving Houston couples well.
Houston's climate matters too. The city sits in a subtropical zone — summers are genuinely hot and humid from May through September, and afternoon thunderstorms are common June through August. The practical upshot: outdoor ceremonies after 6 p.m. work well in summer, and spring weddings (March–April) and fall weddings (October–November) tend to deliver the most comfortable outdoor conditions.
The Heights, Midtown, and the Museum District are the three Houston neighborhoods where wedding venue density is highest. Each has its own visual character, and we know the light timing in all of them.
