Guanacaste's Pacific dry forest coast — where most international wedding tourists concentrate — provides a dramatically different environment from the Caribbean or the central rainforest. The dry season (December through April) brings clear skies, warm Pacific sunsets, and the distinctive landscape of dry tropical forest: golden grasses, white sand beaches, and turquoise Pacific offshore. This is the Costa Rica of luxury resorts and destination weddings at scale.

The Arenal Volcano region in the central highlands provides an entirely different character: the cone of Arenal rising above the jungle, the hot springs, the hanging bridges through the canopy at elevation. Ceremonies near Arenal carry volcanic drama with a backdrop that is unique in Central America. The Osa Peninsula — home to Corcovado National Park — is the most remote and biologically extreme Costa Rica option, producing films that feel genuinely far from the world.

Every Costa Rica package includes the 4–6 minute highlight reel, full ceremony edit, full reception edit, and drone footage over the venue, coastline, and jungle canopy. Costa Rica's DGAC-AESA (AESA) governs commercial drone operations. We maintain current AESA operator registration and comply with all Costa Rican airspace regulations. Guanacaste's Liberia International Airport and San Jose's Juan Santamaría Airport create controlled zones; most beach, jungle, and volcanic venues are outside these zones in accessible airspace.

Dry season (Dec–April) is the primary wedding season for clear skies. Green season (May–Nov) produces lush, intensely green landscapes but requires weather contingency planning. Delivery: highlight reel in 8–10 weeks, full edits in 12–14 weeks.

Costa Rica's two distinct coasts and varied elevations create multiple filming seasons within a single country. The Pacific Coast — including Guanacaste, Manuel Antonio, and the Nicoya Peninsula — has a defined dry season from December through April. This is the optimal Pacific-side filming period: clear skies, warm temperatures, and the Pacific at its calmest. Golden hour on Guanacaste's west-facing beaches falls around 5:45 to 6:00 p.m. in winter, with the sun setting directly over the Pacific Ocean in extraordinary orange and pink tones.

The Caribbean Coast — including Puerto Viejo and Tortuguero — has a different pattern: its relatively dry season runs from February through April and September through October, while the Pacific side is wet. This counter-seasonal pattern means couples can find optimal filming conditions somewhere in Costa Rica at virtually any time of year. The green season on the Pacific side (May through November) is when Costa Rica's jungle is at its most cinematic: waterfalls run at full volume, the forest canopy is saturated with color, and the clouds produce dramatic aerial footage. Rain in Guanacaste during green season tends to fall in late afternoon and evening rather than all day, which means morning and late-morning ceremony ceremonies can often proceed in clear conditions. The weeks between Christmas and New Year's are peak season across all of Costa Rica — beautiful conditions but maximum crowds and venue prices.
