Cabo is a desert coastline, and that single fact shapes everything about photographing a wedding here. There is very little cloud cover, humidity stays low, and the light holds a hard clarity through the middle of the day before turning amber in the final hour. Granite headlands drop straight into the water at Land's End, where the rock formation known as El Arco marks the meeting point of the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific.

The practical draw is access. Los Cabos International Airport (SJD) receives direct flights from a long list of US cities, which matters when guests are travelling for a wedding rather than a holiday. Most resort corridors sit between San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas along the twenty-mile stretch locally called the Corridor, so guests are rarely more than half an hour from the ceremony.

Cabo's wedding venues divide roughly into three kinds. Cliffside resorts on the Pacific side offer elevation and long sightlines — dramatic, but exposed to wind that can pick up sharply in the afternoon. Beachfront properties along the calmer Sea of Cortez side give you swimmable water and a gentler setting for a barefoot ceremony. Inland, a smaller number of desert and garden venues trade the ocean for cactus, bougainvillea and mountain backdrops.

Wind is the variable most couples underestimate. The Pacific side is consistently breezier than the Corridor, which affects veils, florals, hair, and outdoor audio if you are also filming. It is worth asking any venue directly about typical afternoon conditions for your month rather than relying on photographs taken on calm days.

Among the properties couples ask about most often: Sunset Monalisa, a cliffside restaurant above the Sea of Cortez with El Arco visible along the coast; One&Only Palmilla on the Corridor near San José del Cabo, which has a hilltop chapel and calmer-water beach access; and Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal, reached through a tunnel cut into the headland, with terraces stacked against the rock on the Pacific side.

October through May is the dependable window. Daytime temperatures sit comfortably in the seventies and eighties Fahrenheit, rain is rare, and the humidity that makes summer difficult has not yet arrived. Peak demand — and peak pricing at most resorts — falls between January and April.

June through November is the Eastern Pacific hurricane season, with the highest activity typically from August into September. Cabo does see tropical systems in that window, and a wedding planned for late summer should carry a genuine contingency plan rather than an optimistic one. September is historically the wettest month.

Sunset is the anchor of any Cabo schedule. In December it falls around 5:15 PM and in June closer to 7:30 PM, so a ceremony time that works in winter will be an hour and a half off in summer. Building the timeline backwards from sunset, not forwards from the ceremony, is what protects the portrait window.

Coverage is full-day and unposed: preparations, ceremony, the hours in between, and the reception, documented as it happens rather than staged. Travel to Cabo is included in the package price — flights, accommodation and ground transport are already accounted for, so there is no separate travel line to negotiate.
