Cypress avenues, terracotta hills, long table dinners under the stars — Tuscany on film

Scroll

At a Glance

Tara Weddings creates cinematic wedding films across Tuscany — from the cypress-lined avenues of the Val d'Orcia to the Chianti estate vineyards, the walled medieval villages, and the stone farmhouses where long table dinners under the stars are a way of life. Tuscany is the world's most painterly wedding landscape and we film it with the care it deserves.

Our Cinematic Approach in Tuscany

Tuscany has been a subject for painters for six hundred years because its landscape has an inherently compositional quality: the hill, the farmhouse, the row of cypresses, the vine rows converging to a distant point — these elements are arranged, naturally, as if by a designer with a profound understanding of visual balance. Filming here, the landscape does much of the compositorial work for you. Our job is to place the couple inside that landscape at the right moment and trust what nature and history have built.

The Val d'Orcia is our preferred region for purely landscape-driven wedding films. The UNESCO-protected valley — between Pienza and San Quirico — has a quality of unmediated agricultural beauty that exists almost nowhere else in modern Europe. The famous Gladiator wheat field, the Pienza ridge silhouette, the Bagno Vignoni thermal pool — these are landscapes of mythological resonance that give even a 30-second establishing shot enormous emotional weight.

In the Chianti wine country — Greve, Radda, Gaiole — we shift to an estate register: the stone winery buildings, the barrel rooms, the terrace pergola with vine rows running to the horizon. Here we use the architecture as the organising frame and the landscape as the ever-present context.

We film Tuscany weddings across all four seasons because each season has its own cinematic character: the green of spring before harvest, the golden dust of July threshing, the crimson vine leaves of October, the bare vine rows and fog of November.

Best Venues for Wedding Films in Tuscany

Castello di Vicarello, Maremma — A magnificently restored medieval castle in the Maremma hills, with a sense of genuine remoteness. The castle tower, the walled pool garden, and the ancient stone interiors give a wedding film here a quality of timeless, slightly wild Tuscany rather than the polished Chianti estates further north.

Borgo San Felice, Chianti — The converted medieval village in Castelnuovo Berardenga is surrounded by Chianti classico vineyards and the rolling hills that define the postcard Tuscan landscape. The estate's ageing chapel, the stone lane wedding processions, and the vine-terrace dinner settings give a complete cinematic environment.

Spannocchia Estate, near Siena — A biodynamic working farm in the Montagnola Senese hills, with an extraordinary sense of authentic Tuscan rural life. The Chianina cattle in the meadow, the ancient tower, the kitchen garden — these give a wedding film a depth of agricultural reality that manicured luxury estates sometimes lack.

Castel Monastero, Castelnuovo Berardenga — A former monastery complex in the heart of the Chianti hills. The medieval cloister, the stone well in the central courtyard, and the vaulted chapel create a series of architectural frames of great beauty. Evening light in the cloister — falling through the arched colonnade in diminishing perspective — is one of our most used Tuscany compositions.

Agriturismo Poggio Covili, Val d'Orcia — A farmhouse directly on the famous Podere Belvedere road with the classic cypress avenue and Val d'Orcia undulations as an unobstructed backdrop. This is the view from the Renaissance painting, accessible as a working wedding venue.
